212 N. Alamo – Henry Terrell Building
About the Project
The renovation of the historic Henry Terrell Building at 212 N. Alamo was a highly collaborative effort, bringing new life to a century‑old structure through careful restoration and precise execution. The project blended historic preservation with modern functionality, featuring site‑built windows, restored masonry details, and the reuse of original wood joists and riveted steel columns dating back to 1919. Executed within the constraints of a dense downtown, zero‑lot‑line site, the team relied on meticulous planning, craftsmanship, and just‑in‑time logistics to deliver a fully revitalized, fully leased building. In recognition of this effort, the project was awarded the 2024 San Antonio American Subcontractors Association Project of the Year in the $3–5 million category, an honor selected by subcontractors for excellence in coordination, quality, and project delivery.
